Kitchens could be the hardest room to choose blinds for. Moisture, grease splats and heat damage… If you don’t know where to start, you’re not alone! Read our guide below for some helpful pointers!
Easy to Clean Fabrics
Kitchens are the activity hub of most homes but as you’ll know not the easiest to clean! Steam, water splashes, cooking oils etc can all damage your blinds over time. We recommend our manufacturer Louvolite! Their treated fabrics are easy to clean, moisture resistant and, we think, the best blinds for your kitchen or bathroom. Louvolite’s specially treated fabric are made expert by our local supplier Steven’s Scotland and will look like new for years. These fabrics can be made into roller, roman or vertical blinds depending on your preferred style of kitchen blinds.

Heat and Moisure Resistance
If venetian blinds are more your style, make sure to avoid real wood kitchen blinds. The heat produced from cooking and the high moisture levels can warp the wood and affect the look and fucnton of the blinds. As an alternative, we recommend faux wood or aluminium venetian blinds. These materials are heat and moisture resistant which prevents warping and are also easy to clean.
Style
Blinds are the best way to add some character to a kitchen as there is often very little room for decoration and it is certainly cheaper than replacing your cupboards and counters! Faux wood or aluminium venetian blinds keep to a minimalist style and may be the perfect fit for a modern kitchen. However, if you decide on roller, roman or vertical blinds there is no end to the colours and patterns you could choose from!
